Research question

How can we use technologies to provide disadvantaged students an easier access to learning in-demands skills?
How can we use technologies to reduce inequalities in education?

The reason I selected this project

I find this project very interesting, and I think it deserves to be more famous and well-known. It offers poor students a chance to overcome their problems and it is a very noble cause. Moreover, the issue of education is very important to me and gathering technologies and education is actually a very good future.

Technical analysis

General principle

Khan Academy offers hands-on exercises, lesson videos, and a learning platform that allows students to learn at their own pace, in and out of the classroom. The subjects, diverse and varied, range from mathematics to the history of art. In mathematics, the curriculum extends from kindergarten to university and the assignments we offer guide students according to their needs, thanks to state-of-the-art algorithms capable of identifying each person's strengths and weaknesses.

Technical overview- API version

API is used by Khan Academy. The name of each topic is a link to videos within individual topics. Or the topic names are links to exercises or lessons for each category. A lot of education websites use these API to link videos, exercises or lessons such as App Education, Duolingo The API offers new way to learn in-demand skills with videos, lesson, exercises, images and a more playful formation. Data of users are stocked to evaluate them and to rank them within their class and to compare them to the level of the other students. API offer the possibility to the parents to check the improvement and the rank of their child You have to click on a link to trigger an API call The grades of students, their rigor, their commitment, the number of exercises they have done, etc are the kind of information that is retrieved in the project. The parents have access to information regarding their child but not about other child.

Added value thanks to APIs

APIs are an amazing way to help students to find their own favorite method to learn: they can choose videos, image, lessons, exercises. Moreover, APIs help each student to have an customized education and formation by taking into account each flaws and talent that the student has.
